Brooklyn Zoning

This bright Brooklyn studio presented the classic urban challenge: how to fit a full life into a single room. Our client needed a home that could seamlessly transition from a private, restful bedroom to a functional workspace and an inviting area for hosting friends. The goal was to create distinct zones that felt purposeful, all while maintaining a fun, funky, and cohesive aesthetic.

The design's masterstroke is the creation of a true bedroom sanctuary. By installing floor-to-ceiling curtains, we carved out a private space that can be completely closed off, separating rest from the rest of daily life. This "room within a room" features a calming sage green palette and soft textures, making it a true retreat. The main living area is cleverly zoned using area rugs and intentional furniture placement to define separate spots for lounging, dining, and work.

To make the distinct zones feel like one home, we used a playful yet sophisticated palette. Warm pops of coral, soft sage, and sky blue are balanced by a foundation of light woods and crisp whites. Natural, woven textures, like the rattan headboard, knit poufs, and organic-shaped coffee table, add a layer of boho warmth. The result is a bright, airy space that feels both personal and polished.

As with all our projects, the process began with a collaborative mood board to lock in the vision, followed by a detailed furniture plan to maximize every square inch. The design was then visualized through 2D and 3D renderings to ensure a seamless flow. The result is a multifunctional studio that lives like a one-bedroom, packed with personality and perfectly tailored to our client's lifestyle.
